Since the 1980s, the development of hyperspectral remote sensing technology has brought about revolutionary changes in the scope, scale, content, and research methods of human geoscientific research. Its integration with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) technologies has provided people with a continuous stream of high-precision positioning, high-frequency, multi-spectral macroscopic images at different levels, greatly expanding human vision and visual capabilities, and revealing the interconnections and interactions of various spheres of the Earth at different levels.

In recent years, with the exploration, development, and utilization of Earth's resources, human living environment, and outer space, scientists have increasingly emphasized the research and development of high-tech detection technologies and instruments with high spatial and spectral resolution when using satellites to detect and monitor the land surface, atmosphere, ocean, and space targets. Among these, hyperspectral remote sensing technology, characterized by high spectral resolution and integrated image and spectrum mapping, represents a revolutionary leap in the history of remote sensing technology. Today, hyperspectral remote sensing technology is widely used in many fields such as environmental monitoring, atmospheric detection, Earth resource surveys, natural disasters, and astronomical observation, playing an immeasurable role in human societal development, national security, and the national economy.
