2026 China Space Day: CAS Xi'an Optics & Aerospace and its Zhejiang Laboratory sign strategic cooperation agreement.

On April 24, during the 2026 China Aerospace Conference held in Chengdu, CAS Xiguang Aerospace signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Zhijiang Laboratory to promote the "Quantitative Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Intelligent Computing Constellation" to a new stage of "constellation intelligence, data autonomy, advanced models, and abundant computing power".

During the 2026 China Space Conference, CAS Xiguang Aerospace released the "Quantitative Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Intelligent Computing Constellation," which plans to build a space-based intelligent sensing system with 158 hyperspectral satellites working together, high-frequency revisit, and rapid response. This will promote the transformation of remote sensing data processing from "serial processing on-board" to "parallel processing on-board," significantly improving timeliness and reducing data transmission pressure. It will truly transform space-based information from "after-the-fact" to "early-stage," realizing the transformation from "sensing from the sky and calculating from the ground" to "data from the sky and calculating from the sky."

Currently, Xi'an Optics & Light Technology Co., Ltd. has successfully launched and networked 11 satellites, providing comprehensive services to important fields such as agriculture, forestry, water bodies, mining, and carbon sequestration. Its first hyperspectral remote sensing intelligent computing satellite, "Xi'an Optics-2 01," is scheduled to launch in mid-2026, marking a shift in commercial aerospace from "single-satellite intelligence" to "constellation intelligence."
