Academician Tong Qingxi is one of the earliest pioneers in the application of remote sensing technology in China, and he has profound expertise and outstanding contributions to remote sensing technology and applications. During his visit to CAS Xi'an Aerospace, Academician Tong expressed great interest in and recognition of the company's independently developed hyperspectral satellite and remote sensing data services.

Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics CAS Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co.,LTD, wholly owned by Xi'an Xiguang Industrial Development Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned asset management company of the Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, is a commercial aerospace company specializing in hyperspectral satellite and remote sensing data services. The company has strategically positioned itself across the entire business chain, encompassing satellite development, constellation operation, ground systems, and data development, aiming to build my country's largest and most comprehensive hyperspectral remote sensing satellite constellation.

During the exchange, the head of CAS Xiguang Aerospace provided a detailed introduction to the company's latest progress and achievements in remote sensing satellite development, constellation operation, and data development. In particular, the company has successfully launched six satellites into orbit in just a few years, establishing remote sensing satellite data service capabilities for environmental protection, agriculture and forestry, oceanography, geology, environment, and smart cities, which received high praise from Academician Tong Qingxi.

Academician Tong stated that remote sensing technology, as the foundation of satellite Earth observation, plays an irreplaceable role in national resource surveys, environmental monitoring, and disaster early warning. He emphasized that remote sensing research should not only delve into practical applications but also fully utilize the unique resources of local communities and universities, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.
