Airport New City joins hands with CAS Xiguang to promote innovation and upgrading of the commercial aerospace industry

On July 12, 2022, the "Stabilizing Growth, Promoting Development, and Centralized Signing Ceremony for Key Projects" and the "July 1st" Commendation Conference, hosted by Xi'an Airport New City, were successfully held. During the event, a centralized signing ceremony was held for key industrial platforms and projects in the Airport New City. Qin Jing, General Manager of Xi'an Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics CAS Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co.,LTD Technology Co., Ltd., signed an agreement on behalf of the company with Xi'an Airport New City for the Xiguang Aerospace Group Headquarters and Satellite Innovation Application Center project, jointly promoting the rapid development of the city's commercial aerospace industry.

On the same day, a series of activities were also held, including the release ceremony of the "Xi'an Metropolitan Area Airport Economic Cluster Construction Plan", the unveiling ceremony of the "Air Silk Road Investment and Trade Dispute Resolution Center" and the "Northwest University of Political Science and Law Foreign-related Legal Research (Airport) Center", the implementation ceremony of the Airport New City's policy to support the resumption of production in the civil aviation industry, and the commendation ceremony for outstanding Party organizations and outstanding Party members in the Airport New City. On the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the establishment of Xi'an Airport New City, the leaders and guests present reviewed and witnessed the hard work and remarkable achievements of Xi'an Airport New City.

He Jian, member of the Party Working Committee of Xi'an-Xianyang New Area, Secretary of the Party Committee of Airport New City, and Director of the Management Committee, expressed his gratitude to the enterprises that supported the development of the airport and congratulated the award-winning units and individuals. He systematically summarized the achievements of the airport over the past 11 years of development using three keywords: "moving forward, striving forward, and advancing further." He Jian pointed out that it is necessary to deepen innovation-driven development, relentlessly strive and forge ahead in cultivating new platforms and stimulating new momentum, seize the opportunities presented by the construction of the Qinhuangyuan General Window and the Airport Pilot Zone, highlight the strategic leading role of airport-related science and technology innovation in the overall future development of the airport, concentrate superior policies and resources, focus on the construction of innovation platforms, and strengthen, supplement, and extend the industrial chain to address industrial weaknesses and forge industrial strengths.

The Xi'an Aerospace Group Headquarters and Satellite Application Innovation Center project mainly includes the Xi'an Aerospace Group headquarters, satellite manufacturing center, and satellite telemetry and control center. It will focus on satellite research and development, design, precision machining of optical/electronic modules, and overall satellite assembly. At the same time, based on constellation planning, it will carry out satellite launch and operation control and provide remote sensing data services.

Upon completion, the project will become a leading domestic incubator for satellite big data application innovation and a base for cultivating scientific and technological talents. It will enable in-depth research and development of technologies related to satellite remote sensing and automated big data processing, comprehensively promote talent introduction and cultivation in the airport area and even Xi'an-Xianyang New Area, and provide strong technical support for the commercial aerospace industry chain. Later, negotiations for the Xi'an Aerospace Industry Innovation Base project will be initiated at an appropriate time to attract upstream and downstream enterprises in the commercial aerospace industry chain, further promoting the clustering of high-end aerospace technology industries in the region and creating a strategic highland for aerospace technology innovation.

Since its establishment, CAS Xiguang Aerospace has made full use of its abundant resources and advanced technological advantages in the aerospace field, focusing on the integration of satellite research and development and innovative applications. It has independently designed and developed a series of innovative products such as commercial integrated remote sensing microsatellite constellation systems, complete satellites, and satellite data demonstration systems, and has been committed to promoting the coordinated development of satellite and big data application technology innovation and major projects.

The establishment of this facility in the Airport New City marks another significant milestone in the development of CAS Xiguang Aerospace. In the future, CAS Xiguang will collaborate with the Airport New City to further leverage the demonstrative and leading role of its satellite manufacturing and control centers, attracting more and better commercial aerospace companies to the airport area. This will promote the widespread application of high technology, drive new economic growth points in the airport area, better promote the development of commercial aerospace in the airport region, and contribute to the innovation and upgrading of my country's commercial aerospace industry.
