During the visit to CAS Xi'an Optoelectronics Aerospace, the company showcased its latest achievements in hyperspectral remote sensing satellite constellation construction, data platform development, and application expansion. In-depth exchanges were held among the laboratory's member units, jointly exploring the research and application of intelligent remote sensing technology. The "Intelligent Remote Sensing R&D Center," a branch of the key laboratory, primarily relies on CAS Xi'an Optoelectronics Aerospace's strong data and technology R&D capabilities to build an integrated R&D center for spatial information sharing, service provision, technical cooperation, exchange, and innovation. It employs remote sensing big data mining, intelligent interpretation, and identification analysis technologies to provide comprehensive, precise, and intelligent spatial information services to various industries.The Intelligent Remote Sensing R&D Center has established five research directions: 1. Remote sensing data acquisition and intelligent sensor development; 2. Intelligent management technology for aerospace information big data; 3. Multi-source remote sensing data processing and analysis; 4. Intelligent reconstruction of multi-scale remote sensing data; and 5. Construction of continuous spectral remote sensing samples and development of AI algorithms.

He pointed out that hyperspectral remote sensing has significant application value in the mineral resources field, and data quality needs to be improved, especially in terms of spatial resolution and spectral resolution, where there is still considerable room for improvement. He also offered suggestions for the future development of CAS Xi'an Optics & Light Technology Co., Ltd., urging it to improve data observation quality, combine data, technology, information, and artificial intelligence, and fully utilize favorable conditions to address international challenges.

Hong Zenglin, director of the laboratory, counselor of the Shaanxi Provincial Government, and second-level professor, stated that for the construction of remote sensing constellations, customized development and public welfare satellites should complement each other. The application of new technologies such as AI and big data poses significant challenges to traditional technologies, and he hopes that CAS Xi'an Optics & Aerospace can actively address these challenges. Regarding mineral exploration satellites, he emphasized the importance of strategic mineral exploration, particularly given the national demand for mineral resources in high-tech, aerospace, and maritime fields, which requires breakthroughs in remote sensing technology. He also mentioned the urgent need for satellite remote sensing technology in areas such as the national dual-carbon plan, urban security, and spatial planning, emphasizing the importance of forming an integrated technological force across the entire industry chain.
