CAS Xi'an Optoelectronics & Aerospace showcases its products at the 2026 China Space Day.

2026-04-24

On April 24, 2026, the eleventh "China Space Day" grandly opened at the Chengdu Century City New International Expo Center. The event, themed "Seventy Years of Exploring the Heavens, Joining Hands to Explore the Nine Heavens," brought together top industry enterprises, research institutes, and cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements to gather industrial strength and discuss a new journey in space exploration.

At this year's Space Day, CAS Xi'an Optics & Aerospace made a grand appearance at booth B6 in Hall 1, showcasing multiple self-developed satellites from the "Xi'an Optics Series," a full-spectrum hyperspectral payload, and onboard AI computing technology. The booth highlighted CAS Xi'an Optics & Aerospace's capabilities across the entire value chain, from satellite development and constellation operation to payload customization and data application. This attracted numerous industry professionals who stopped by to exchange ideas and explore potential collaborations.

The "Wuyang Constellation" precursor satellite A, scheduled for launch in 2026, will be equipped with a 0.5-meter resolution high-resolution camera and a multi-channel visible infrared camera. It will be used to verify the low-latitude high-frequency coverage and long strip imaging capabilities, which will meet the urgent needs of urban refined management, traffic planning and disaster prevention and mitigation for high-timeliness and high-precision spatial data, and lay the technical foundation for the subsequent large-scale networking of the "Wuyang Constellation".

The Xiguang-1 02 satellite (Tanli) is equipped with a new type of multispectral camera, enabling precise identification of ground features. Its primary application is in mineral exploration, but it also holds revolutionary significance in environmental monitoring, agricultural yield estimation, and disaster early warning. Future development will focus on validating new payload technologies and accumulating crucial data for subsequent constellation deployment.

Xiguang-1 03 (Xiamen Science and Technology-1) is China's first commercial satellite customized for urban use. It boasts several of the highest domestic indicators for hyperspectral satellites of this size, featuring miniaturization, wide spectral band, large field of view, and large relative aperture. It is mainly used in fields such as marine economy, natural resources, meteorology, emergency management, and smart cities.

During the exhibition, CAS Xiguang Aerospace achieved numerous highlights and fruitful results: it not only showcased the "Xiguang Series" satellites and a number of self-developed core technologies, but also launched the "Quantitative Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Intelligent Computing Constellation". Simultaneously, it signed an academician workstation agreement and reached a strategic cooperation agreement with Zhijiang Laboratory, making multi-dimensional arrangements for a new ecosystem of space computing power and hyperspectral remote sensing, and working with industry partners to explore a new future for aerospace development.
