"Data-Driven Advancement of Remote Sensing Integration": The 6th Yuncheng Salt Lake Remote Sensing Academic and Application Symposium Successfully Held

On October 29th, the 6th Yuncheng Salt Lake Remote Sensing Academic and Application Symposium, hosted by the China Remote Sensing Application Association, Shanxi Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources, and Shanxi Geological Group Co., Ltd., and organized by Shanxi Provincial Geophysical and Chemical Exploration Institute Co., Ltd., Shanxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Environmental Remote Sensing Application, Yuncheng Satellite Remote Sensing Big Data Application Center, and Yuncheng Carbon Neutrality Industry Research Institute, was successfully held.

Tong Qingxi, Senior Advisor of the China Association for Remote Sensing Applications and Academician of the Chinese Academy of SciencesXue Yongqi, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Mayor of Yuncheng Municipal People's Government; Luo Ge, Chairman of the China Remote Sensing Application Association and Academician of the International Academy of Astronautics; Zhang Huixiong, Deputy Director of the Office of the Shanxi Provincial Committee for Military-Civilian Integration Development; Song Weizhu, Second-level Inspector of the Shanxi Provincial Department of Natural Resources; and Wang Hongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Shanxi Provincial Bureau of Geological Exploration, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Cheng Qiuming, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a keynote report. Yao Huajun, former Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources; Shang Alang, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Director of the Shanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology; and Ren Jiadong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Hebei University of Geosciences, also attended. More than 120 representatives from the Shanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Shanxi Provincial Data Bureau, Yuncheng Municipal Government departments, and universities, research institutes, and geological exploration units both inside and outside the province participated in the seminar.

Tong Qingxi, senior advisor of the China Association for Remote Sensing Applications, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, pioneer of hyperspectral technology in China, and founder of hyperspectral remote sensing technology, pointed out that China's remote sensing industry has entered a new era. We must thoroughly implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, give full play to the value of remote sensing data elements, and accelerate the transformation into data assets and data capital; actively promote the integration of remote sensing technology with disciplines such as agriculture and geology to achieve the integrated development of the remote sensing industry; continuously deepen the integration of remote sensing technology into grassroots governance practices, and continuously improve the application and popularization rate of remote sensing technology to help build a modern industrial system that is intelligent, green, and integrated.

Sun Hao, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Shanxi Institute of Geophysical and Geochemical Sciences, stated that the company will focus on three main businesses: geophysical and geochemical exploration, surveying and mapping remote sensing, and geological exploration. It will strengthen innovation-driven development, enhance the comprehensive application capabilities of "physical-chemical-remote sensing," promote the two-way transformation of data and business, and serve grassroots and overall governance.

In the special report session, Academician Cheng Qiuming delivered a speech entitled "Deep Time Knowledge Empowers Real-Time Perception: A New Paradigm for Earth Science Driven by the Fusion of DDE and AlphaEarth".

Xiao Keyan, a foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Engineering, delivered a speech entitled "AI-enabled resource evaluation and mineral exploration prediction". Wang Quan, former director of the Satellite Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, delivered a report entitled "Construction and Application of Land Satellite Remote Sensing System". Wei Zheng, secretary-general of the China Remote Sensing Application Association, delivered a speech entitled "Prospects for the Aerospace Industry during the 15th Five-Year Plan and Development Suggestions for Shanxi Province". Chen Shengbo, professor of the Department of Geographic Information Science, College of Geo-exploration Science and Technology, Jilin University, delivered a speech entitled "Application of Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Monitoring of Geological and Ecological Areas".

Qin Jing, Chairman and General Manager of Xi'an Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics CAS Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co.,LTD Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a special report entitled "Hyperspectral Satellite Remote Sensing Technology Precisely Empowers Agriculture, Forestry, Mining and Water Resources and the 'Dual Carbon' Strategy".

At the meeting, witnessed by the Yuncheng Municipal People's Government and the China Remote Sensing Application Association, Shanxi Provincial Institute of Physics and Chemistry Co., Ltd. released three remote sensing technology application products (achievements): a single map of hyperspectral data of Shanxi Province, the Shanxi Provincial Agricultural, Forestry, Water and Mineral Application System, and a remote sensing satellite multispectral monitoring dataset.

The Yuncheng Municipal Government and Shanxi Geophysical and Chemical Exploration Institute Co., Ltd. signed a framework agreement for satellite data application services in Yuncheng City.

Five organizations, including Shanxi Geophysical and Chemical Exploration Institute Co., Ltd., Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics CAS Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co.,LTD Technology Co., Ltd., Guangdong Tianheng Technology Co., Ltd., Shanxi University of Finance and Economics, and Hebei University of Geosciences, signed a satellite data sharing alliance agreement.

This symposium received strong support from the National Key Laboratory of Geological Processes and Metallogenic Prediction, the Institute of Resources of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, the Jilin Data and Application Center of the High Resolution Earth Observation System of the China National Space Administration, the Jilin High Resolution Remote Sensing Application Research Institute, the Shanxi Data and Application Center of the High Resolution Earth Observation System, the Shanxi Satellite Application Technology Center of Natural Resources, and Shanxi Data Exchange Center Co., Ltd.
