Ankang City, as a core area of ​​selenium-rich resources in China, possesses unique natural selenium-rich land resources. However, uneven distribution of soil selenium content, heavy ecological protection pressure, and lagging monitoring technology have long constrained the high-quality development of the selenium-rich industry chain. To overcome these bottlenecks, CAS Xiguang Aerospace and the Ankang Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology have reached a strategic cooperation based on the innovative application of hyperspectral remote sensing satellite technology to promote the upgrading of the selenium-rich industry in two phases.

Constructing an integrated space-air selenium-enriched monitoring system

Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics CAS Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co.,LTD and the Ankang Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology have reached a cooperation agreement based on hyperspectral remote sensing satellite technology to promote the upgrading of Ankang's selenium-rich industry in two phases. The first phase relies on the existing satellite constellation and data reserves to focus on four application pilot projects: soil selenium content monitoring, water source ecological monitoring, agricultural product growth management, and the construction of a quality traceability system. The second phase plans to jointly build the "Selenium-Wide Vision-1" specialized functional satellite to construct a selenium-rich industry monitoring network covering the whole country and even the world, and promote the deep integration of the selenium-rich industry chain with the commercial aerospace industry chain.

Promoting rural revitalization and green transformation

This collaboration is of great significance to the selenium-rich industry in Ankang City and even Shaanxi Province. It will help rural revitalization by optimizing planting layout through precise monitoring of soil selenium content, thereby increasing farmers' income; promote green transformation by monitoring the ecological health of water sources in real time to ensure the sustainable development of the industry; enhance brand value by building a quality traceability system to strengthen consumer trust; and explore industrial integration by promoting the combination of selenium-rich industries with the commercial aerospace industry chain to open up new avenues.
