Hyperspectral remote sensing technology helps in dynamic monitoring of forestry resources.
Currently, countries worldwide attach great importance to forest resource protection to maintain ecological balance. To improve the effectiveness of forest resource protection, the United Nations General Assembly resolved to declare March 21st of each year as the International Day of Forests, inviting all member states to launch and promote specific forest-related activities on this day, based on their national circumstances. This has made a beneficial contribution to raising global awareness of strengthening the sustainable management, conservation, and sustainable development of all types of forests for present and future generations.
In recent years, my country has also actively used various technological means to better protect forest resources. In actual forest resource surveys, satellite remote sensing technology has been widely used, and the application of hyperspectral remote sensing technology has provided theoretical and technical support, playing an irreplaceable role in my country's forest surveys.
Satellite remote sensing technology offers advantages such as a macroscopic view, dynamic monitoring, convenient information acquisition, intuitive images, and the real-time, macroscopic, multi-temporal, and three-dimensional coverage capabilities of remote sensing information. It provides a new detection method for forest resource surveys, protection and development, land management, environmental monitoring, and global research. Furthermore, satellite remote sensing images of the same scene are generally captured at the same time, facilitating the understanding of the distribution patterns of different vegetation types at the same moment in forest resource surveys.
