Taibo Think Tank Releases Panoramic Map of Space Computing Power Industry Chain (2026)
Focusing on the development of the space computing power industry, Taibo Think Tank officially launched the "Panoramic Map of the Space Computing Power Industry Chain (2026)". Based on industry insights and in-depth research, this study clearly outlines the landscape of the space computing power industry by breaking down the core links and key participants in the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors.
The space computing power industry chain consists of upstream space computing power infrastructure, midstream computing power platforms and operations, and downstream computing power applications and services.
The upstream infrastructure layer provides the underlying hardware support for the entire industry chain, including three major segments: space computing chips, core components, and ground facilities. The chip sector provides onboard AI chips, radiation-resistant processors, and other components, which form the "computing power core" for on-orbit computing. Core components focus on radiation-resistant FPGAs, power management modules, and other components to ensure the stable operation of the onboard system. Ground support is provided through ground stations, information control stations, and other facilities to assist the space-to-ground transmission link. The three work together to build a solid hardware foundation for large-scale operation.
The midstream computing platform and operation layer are the core hubs, organizing dispersed space-based computing power into schedulable service capabilities, including three major components: space data centers and computing constellations, onboard computers, and inter-satellite interconnection.By networking low-Earth orbit computing satellites to build distributed on-orbit computing clusters, computing power deployment is extended from the ground to space; onboard computers become the core carriers for on-board data processing and large model inference; inter-satellite interconnection is built through laser communication to establish a space-based high-speed network, realizing computing power scheduling and data transmission, and completing the value upgrade from "single satellite computing power" to "space-based distributed computing power network".
Downstream computing power applications and services are the ultimate embodiment of industrial value, unfolding from three dimensions: ground-based, air-based, and global, corresponding to three major areas: on-orbit intelligent decision-making and large-scale model applications, space situational awareness, and space-ground fusion.On-orbit decision-making deploys large-scale AI models in space to support real-time analysis in fields such as remote sensing and transportation; situational awareness relies on space-based computing power to achieve air and space target monitoring and early warning, serving national defense security and air and space management; space-ground integration connects space-ground computing power networks to expand application scenarios such as low-altitude economy and the Internet of Things, achieving comprehensive coverage from toG public services to toB industry empowerment.
at present,Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics CAS Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co.,LTD has fully launched a strategic cooperation with the Zhijiang Laboratory, representing a forward-looking and in-depth integration of aerospace remote sensing and intelligent computing power. The two parties..."The Three-Body Problem: Calculating Constellations"Starting from this point, not onlyCommitted to building a globally covered intelligent space-based network, it also aims to connect end-to-end applications, from "spaceborne intelligent computing" to "on-orbit empowerment," integrating computing power and applications.By jointly building a hyperspectral data center, computing power center, and remote sensing big data model, both parties will work together to promote the real-time, intelligent, and asset-based transformation of remote sensing data, empowering the precise perception of information across multiple Earth spheres with space-based computing power. This collaboration is not only a joint effort in technology and engineering, but also a new type of infrastructure construction for the digital economy era. It will provide autonomous, controllable, and responsive space-based information services for major national strategic areas such as agriculture, ecology, and resources, promoting the high-quality development of commercial aerospace while exploring new boundaries of space cognition driven by AI.。
