The first batch of hyperspectral images was successfully transmitted! Xi'an Guangming-2 01 satellite officially launched its new "daytime calculation" mode.

2026-07-23

At 10:54 AM on July 22, 2026, Xiguang-2 01 (Caiyun Hyperspectral 01), China's first quantitative hyperspectral intelligent computing satellite independently developed by Xiguang Aerospace, was successfully launched into orbit from the East my country Sea aboard a Gravity-1 Y4 carrier rocket. Shortly after separation from the satellite, it successfully completed its first imaging mission, transmitting the first batch of high-quality hyperspectral images to the ground. The images are clear and have complete spectral information, indicating that the payload, on-board processing, and data transmission links of this first domestic quantitative hyperspectral intelligent computing satellite are fully operational, all telemetry parameters are normal, and its on-orbit status is stable and good.

Xiguang-2 01 satellite (Caiyun Hyperspectral 01 satellite) is the first satellite developed by CAS Xiguang Aerospace for Yunnan Geological and Mineral Resources Bureau, and it is also the first satellite developed by Yunnan Geological and Mineral Resources Bureau for this purpose.Caiyun ConstellationThis is the first hyperspectral satellite in the series. It is also the first satellite launched by CAS Xi'an Optics & Light Technology Co., Ltd. in collaboration with its Zhejiang Laboratory, integrating breakthroughs in hyperspectral quantitative remote sensing technology with real-time intelligent on-orbit processing.AI computing power satellite

As the first hyperspectral satellite in China's commercial aerospace field to adopt an interferometric spectral imaging system, this satellite breaks through the traditional "sky-sensing and ground-computing" data processing mode, directly completing the acquisition, processing, and decision-making of remote sensing data in orbit. It takes the lead in achieving a historic leap in the field of hyperspectral remote sensing, possessing the dual breakthrough capability of "quantitative remote sensing + real-time response" for the first time in China.

The first batch of image transmissions validated the satellite's integrated quantitative remote sensing and on-orbit intelligent computing capabilities. Going forward, the Xi'an Optics-Light 2 01 satellite (Caiyun Hyperspectral 01 satellite) will primarily serve large-scale dynamic monitoring in multiple fields, including mining area ecological monitoring, ecological and environmental protection, land surveys, agricultural, forestry and animal husbandry supervision, and global environmental change, empowering digital monitoring and refined governance across various industries with domestically developed quantitative hyperspectral intelligent computing capabilities.
