On December 14, 2022, the departure ceremony for the XIGUANG-003 satellite test team of Xi'an Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics CAS Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co.,LTD Technology Co., Ltd. was held at the Northwest Science and Technology Building of the Xi'an Aerospace Base. Zhu Qing, Chairman and Chief Engineer of Xi'an Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics CAS Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co.,LTD Technology Co., Ltd., Qin Jing, General Manager, test team members, and key employees of the company attended the ceremony.

The "Xiamen Science and Technology No. 1" XIGUANG-003 satellite is a hyperspectral satellite customized by CAS Xiguang Aerospace for urban application services in Xiamen. It fully leverages the advantages of new technologies such as integrated satellite-borne and rocket technology. The "Xiamen Science and Technology No. 1" XIGUANG-003 satellite has the capabilities of rapid maneuverability and high-speed data transmission, as well as multiple modes such as video, staring, continuous strip, and multi-strip stitching. It carries two payloads: a hyperspectral camera and a panchromatic camera, to meet the diverse user needs of users, including high spectral resolution + medium-to-high spatial resolution and multi-source remote sensing data fusion.

As the first urban-customized satellite independently developed by CAS Xiguang Aerospace, the "Xiamen Science and Technology No. 1" XIGUANG-003 satellite will be launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in January 2023 aboard the "Ceres-1" Y5 carrier rocket. After launch, the satellite can be primarily applied to fields such as marine economy, natural resources, meteorology, emergency management, and smart cities, contributing to Xiamen's industrial upgrading and high-quality economic development.
