Understanding the vast universe and igniting scientific dreams – the CAS Xi'an Optics & Technology Group's "First Lesson of the New Semester" aerospace science popularization and education activity was successfully held.

The starry sky is vast and boundless, and exploration is endless. On September 3, 2022, as the golden autumn school season approached, Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics CAS Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co.,LTD brought a unique and interesting "first lesson of the new school year" to the employees and their families of the Investment Promotion Department II of Xi'an Airport New City, leading the children to "travel" through the vast universe.

This "First Lesson of the New Semester" activity focused on aerospace science popularization and education, mainly covering topics such as climate principles, physical phenomena, and computer programming. Through the vivid and engaging explanations of a professional teaching team, combined with a series of rich and interesting classroom experiments and hands-on activities, the activity fully stimulated the children's interest and inspired their passion for and respect for science.

In the course "Where Does the Wind Come From?", the instructor used beautifully designed cartoon courseware to explain in detail to the children the formation of climate in nature, the principles of wind, the relationship between molecular density and the weight of objects, and other related topics. The instructor also extended the knowledge by incorporating real-life situations and invited the children to conduct hands-on experiments, making items such as hot air balloons and carousels. Through this combination of theory and practice, the children's understanding and memory of scientific principles were further strengthened.

Meanwhile, in order to cultivate children's computational thinking and innovative problem-solving abilities, the day's activities also included hands-on courses focusing on children's programming. Through the Micro:bit microcomputer, which can be programmed, every child was able to learn to program, and in the process of programming, they trained their logical thinking, created learning fun, and inspired more creativity.

The interconnected science exploration activities, creative teacher-student interactions, and engaging simulation experiments... this unprecedented "first day of school" ignited the children's curiosity and thirst for knowledge. Everyone actively asked questions and participated enthusiastically, resulting in lively teacher-student exchanges and a strong positive response. After the event, Zhongke Xiguang presented the children with carefully prepared back-to-school gifts, hoping they would remember the new knowledge they had learned and continue to think critically and make progress in their future studies.
