Launch the firstCustomized hyperspectral commercial satellite for cities independently developed by Shaanxi enterprises

On January 9, 2023, the "Xiamen Science and Technology No. 1" XIGUANG-003 satellite, a hyperspectral satellite customized for urban application services in Xiamen, was successfully launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. This satellite is the first urban-customized hyperspectral satellite independently developed by a Shaanxi-based company, marking a new stage in the development of Shaanxi's civil aerospace industry.

Technological innovationFully leverage the innovative technological advantages of "space-borne integration"

Based on its profound technological accumulation and strong innovation capabilities, CAS Xiguang Aerospace deeply implements the concept of scientific and technological innovation and strives to achieve new breakthroughs and new results in technological innovation.

In the first commercial satellite launched, "Xiamen Science and Technology No. 1" XIGUANG-003, CAS Xiguang Aerospace fully leveraged its innovative "integrated satellite" technology advantages to significantly reduce the satellite's size and weight, compressing the entire satellite to 50Kg and achieving several of the highest domestic indicators for hyperspectral satellites of this weight class.

Going forward, CAS Xiguang will further optimize and upgrade its "integrated satellite" technology, compressing the entire satellite to less than 30 kg. This will not only further reduce satellite development and launch costs and increase profit margins, but also allow for the full utilization of the multi-satellite launch method to rapidly form a remote sensing constellation network and fully leverage the effectiveness of the lightweight hyperspectral satellite constellation.

First timeFor the first time in China, a hyperspectral imager has been mounted on a satellite weighing over 100 kilograms.

After launch, this satellite will form a constellation with other satellites, further improving the construction of the remote sensing constellation.

Early deploymentCommercial dual-carbon monitoring remote sensing satellite constellation

Based on my country's goal of "striving to achieve carbon peaking before 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060" and its sustainable development strategy, CAS Xi'an Optoelectronics & Aerospace has taken the lead in China by launching a commercial dual-carbon monitoring remote sensing satellite constellation plan based on ultra-fine spectral detection technology. They have designed China's first commercial methane monitoring satellite—XIGUANG-004—capable of monitoring the concentrations of major greenhouse gases. This satellite is a remote sensing satellite for monitoring carbon sources and sinks, equipped with a methane concentration detector, a chlorophyll fluorescence detector, and a multispectral imaging camera. It has multiple operating modes and can meet the diverse needs of users of satellite remote sensing monitoring for dual-carbon targets.
