On July 1, the Major Project Engineering Center of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense officially released the "List of the First Batch of Member Units of the Commercial Aerospace Innovation Consortium", which includes 271 units covering the entire chain of rocket launch, satellite development, telemetry, tracking and control, data application, and technological innovation.Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics CAS Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co.,LTD was successfully selected and assigned to the "Satellite Development Group." It is one of the few commercial satellite companies in this track that possesses a full-chain capability encompassing satellite development, constellation operation, payload customization, and data application.。

On April 24, 2025, the consortium was initiated and established by the China National Space Administration at the main event of the tenth "China Space Day." Its aim is to implement the relevant instructions and requirements for the high-quality and safe development of commercial spaceflight and to build a collaborative platform for government, industry, academia, research, application, and finance. The recruitment of the first batch of member units began in July 2025, and the selection process, including voluntary application, qualification review, and comprehensive evaluation, has been completed.

Adhering to the principles of "government guidance, enterprise as the main body, collaborative innovation, industrial promotion, open cooperation, and standardized order," the consortium focuses on key aspects such as policy and standard dissemination, supply and demand matching, and industrial integration, and organizes a series of activities to strengthen industry self-regulation and create a collaborative innovation industrial ecosystem.
